Vinyl floors 'a good choice for garages'

Homeowners wishing to make their garages look more presentable may wish to invest in vinyl flooring options.

An advice piece in the Washington Post has stated that refurbishing the floor of a garage can be a good way of giving the space a "makeover", with vinyl floor mats highlighted as one possible option.

The article suggests that homeowners first utilise concrete cleaners to rid the ground of any dirt or debris, adding that the job is likely go a lot more smoothly if they enlist assistance.

"Don't expect to do it all in one day, or even over a weekend. If you get help from your family, a friend ... or a professional organiser, the job will move faster," said the publication.

Other tips for clearing up the garage include de-cluttering the area, throwing out anything which is unnecessary and storing everything else in an orderly fashion without taking up too much floor space.

Earlier this month, Calgary Herald columnist Gerald Vander Pyl stated that vinyl flooring has become an increasingly "high-style" option for homes.
