Vinyl flooring ?should not contain volatile organic compounds?
Pet owners who are buying new vinyl flooring for their home have been encouraged to choose their selection carefully.
According to Kim Cook, a writer at the Northwest Herald, many animals are very sensitive to certain chemicals, as are some human beings.
However, some vinyl flooring contains volatile organic compounds (VOC), which could potentially trigger an adverse reaction in highly sensitive pets and people.
Ms Cook has therefore urged consumers who want to install vinyl flooring in their home to ensure they pick a product that does not emit traces of VOCs.
Vinyl flooring is a very popular flooring material among homeowners that can have a number of applications around a typical domestic property.
Earlier this month, the New York Times suggested that it could be ideal for use in a laundry room, as it can stand up to the rigours of daily use and is very easy to clean.
