Vinyl flooring is an 'effective upgrade'
Vinyl flooring has been promoted for use in the bathroom in a new interior design guide.
Writing for the Calgary Herald, columnist Lisa Kadane looked at a range of ways for property owners to easily renovate their homes.
She pointed to advice from American company the Home Depot, which provided a range of ideas for getting value out of DIY projects.
"The Home Depot suggests cost-effective upgrades such as creating a modern bathroom alcove with acrylic sheets, or making over the entryway with vinyl flooring," she said.
Ms Kadane went on to advise homeowners that a pegboard in the kitchen could often be a valuable addition. She suggested that DIYers use it for easy access to various pots, pans and other "oversized utensils".
A DIY Plumber guide to Bathroom Design suggests that homeowners who are unsure of what colour scheme to use for fixtures opt for white, due to its versatility.
