Vinyl flooring 'fabulous for pets'
Homeowners with pets could see benefits from the use of vinyl flooring, one home improvement expert has claimed.
In a blog post for the Hartford Courant, Nancy Schoeffler claimed that pet-friendly materials, such as vinyl flooring, are of growing importance due to the fact that keeping pets is popular among homeowners.
"Light-medium dark wood will do nicely if thickly sealed and it will hide scratches. Vinyl floors are now 'green' and fabulous for pets."
Ms Schoeffler went on to state that pet-friendly design is among the fastest growing interior design trends and dispensed some top tips including purchasing extra rolls of wallpaper to replace any scratched by a pet.
A recent Fox News guide highlighted the benefits of laminate flooring, claiming it is a superior material than carpet.
Ms Schoeffler also advised homeowners to choose furniture with a similar colour to their pet's fur, as this will make hairs which have been shed less noticeable.
