Wood floors 'growing in popularity'
Wood floors are becoming increasingly popular with homeowners, a newspaper has noted.
According to the North Wales Chronicle, people have less time to spend maintaining their home and want materials that are easy to look after.
As a result, people such as young professionals are favouring wood floors, as they do not have to spend lots of time cleaning it on their hands and knees.
"Wooden floors need little to no maintenance at all," the North Wales Chronicle said.
The newspaper stated that the material can "easily" handle the rigours of continual daily use and "will stay looking as good as new for an extended period time".
Homeowners were also advised that wood floors allow them to relax at home without worrying about making a mess.
Indeed, the North Wales Chronicle said that while a carpet can stain after a spillage, it is easy to clean a wood floor if there is an accident at home.
This coincides with a separate recommendation from the Shropshire Star, which said wood floors are far more practical than carpets.
