Wood floors 'good for children with asthma'

Wood flooring can be a good design choice for those parents of children who suffer from asthma.

This is according to Jeanine Matlow of the Detroit News, who stated that kids who suffer from allergens will also be healthier if they live in a home with wood floors.

Terry Ellis, interior designer and owner of Room Service Interior Design in Troy, told the journalist that other excellent design choices for busy parents could include picking an eggshell colour for the walls, as this is less likely to show up marks such as fingerprints than other shades.

This comes shortly after Manchester contractor Jeffrey Karpowicz explained that he chose wood flooring for his new-build home as it was important for him and his wife that sustainable materials were used whenever possible.

He was speaking to the Marblehead Reporter, which added that wood flooring can be a good choice for people who suffer from allergens, as it does not harbour the harmful materials that a carpet does.
