Wood floors could be ideal in a kitchen

Wood floors could be perfect in a kitchen, one industry expert has suggested.

According to decorator Brian Patrick Flynn, who created the blog Decor Demon, plank wood floors are a "popular industrial element" in such a room.

He stated: "The more wear and tear ... the more authentic the look".

What's more, Mr Flynn pointed out kitchens are an "easy and practical" space with which to introduce some industrial design.

In addition to the introduction of wood floors, people may like to put in a wooden table and large industrial lights, as well as stainless steel appliances.

Those who are keen to insert such flooring in their kitchen may like to ensure they go for green materials.

A Richmond Review guide recently pointed out reclaimed wood floors - whereby the timber can be taken from barns, river bottoms or railroads - are proving a popular option for eco-friendly homeowners.
