Wood floors 'are easy to clean'

Ensuring a wood floor is kept in top condition could hardly be simpler, according to one home improvement expert.

Installing a wood floor has a number of benefits for homeowners, not least that it is durable and likely to last much longer than most of the alternatives.

It also requires very little work to keep it looking good, Pat Logan of Here's How explained.

Writing for Creators.com, he pointed out that spending less time cleaning it can actually be beneficial for wood flooring.

"Never wash it with lots of water or other cleaners. Just vacuum it regularly to pick up grit," said Mr Logan.

Homeowners should avoid using wax when cleaning wood flooring, as it makes it difficult to resurface in the future, he added.

Chantal Lamers of the San Francisco Chronicle recently advised homeowners that a microfibre sweeper is one of the best pieces of equipment to use when cleaning wood flooring, as it is easy to manoeuvre into the corners.
