Wood flooring used in prize-winning kitchen
Wood flooring is a key component of a kitchen renovation which earned accolades for the firm which installed it.
Charlotte Albers, a correspondent for the Burlington Free Press, recently reported on the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Northern Vermont's 2010 Better Homes Awards.
These honours are given to firms which display "exemplary" work and have been awarded to a wide range of home improvement projects.
Peregrine Design/Build, a South Burlington remodelling firm, won the top prize for its efforts on a kitchen renovation on local property the Milton home.
Tim Frost, owner of the firm, was called in by the residents - as he had previously lived in the house and knew the space well.
"Their labour of love was to install random-width hard maple floors with cherry plugs in the great room which combined both living room and kitchen," said Ms Albers.
Earlier in the month, the wood flooring of a kitchen in a Rock Creek home was highlighted in an article for the Kensington Patch.
