Wood flooring to go on show in the Middle East

Wood flooring is set to go on show at a forthcoming industry event in the Middle East.

A recent Zawya guide to the Domotex carpets and floor coverings show in Dubai noted that this year's gathering will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

It spoke to Angela Schaschen, managing director of Deutsche Messe Dubai Branch, who revealed some of the key fixtures of the 2011 event.

"[It] will feature a wealth of hand-made and machine-made rugs and carpets, textile and resilient floor coverings, parquet and other wood flooring, laminates, ceramic tiles, natural stone and marble [and] floor coverings for sport facilities," she said.

The guide also revealed that a special hard-flooring section will be a fixture at this year's event, which will display some of the latest products for use in commercial projects.

This comes after those working in the US flooring industry gathered at the Surfaces convention at the Mandalay Bay Convention Centre in Las Vegas.
