Wood flooring 'suitable for those with pets'

Wood flooring has been put forward as a material which is suitable to use in homes with pets.

In a recent article for the Washington Post, DIY columnists Jura Koncius and Terri Sapienza responded to the query of one reader who wanted to install wood flooring as part of a series of renovations to their kitchen.

However, they said that they were considering the use of another material as a dog resided in the property that is "very well-behaved but has the rare mishap".

The two experts responded with claims that wood flooring would be an ideal option.

They also advised the reader to put area rugs over the material in locations where they may be needed.

Earlier in the week, the Province's guide to acclimatising pets to a new property recommended that those moving home take their dog inside the house to get him used to the transition between carpet and laminate flooring.
