Wood flooring offers 'warmth, beauty and value'

The beneficial properties of wood flooring have been promoted in a new guide to complementing the decor of a home.

The guide by EMC News said that choosing the right kind of wood floors can often be a challenge for homeowners.

Marketing director of American hardwood manufacturer Mercier Wood Flooring Michel Collin claimed there are a "few key factors" to bear in mind when considering a wood flooring purchase.

"It's always best to start with your floor when decorating. If you want a modern or contemporary look you should consider wood species that have a cleaner look," he said.

Mr Collin went on to note that homeowners seeking a more rustic look should consider white ash or oak wood flooring products.

In a recent Montreal Gazette article, Donna Nebenzahl spoke to a couple who noted that wood flooring can often be used to complement a home which features wood furnishings.
