Wood flooring 'makes a great complement for country homes'

Wood flooring has been put forward as a material which can provide a great complement to country homes.

A Tanzania Citizen guide to the "calm and chic" style of such properties noted that its decor has "come a long way" in keeping pace with modern trends.

However, the guide also claimed that country home style is not confined to those in rural areas and suggested urban homeowners incorporate it into their houses.

It promoted the use of wood flooring, stating that the material can often invoke a cosy feel.

"Wooden floors and country homes go together like bees and honey," said the guide. "[And they are] convenient as wood conserves heat compared to cement or tile flooring."

This comes after a Oneindia guide hailed the use of traditional style in the bedroom.

It said that such "timeless" furnishings can never go out of fashion, as long as the decorating is tastefully done.
