Wood flooring 'is very fashionable'

Wood flooring is currently very fashionable, according to one industry expert.

Carolyn Park, head of design practice for Carolyn Park Interior Design, said using the material has made everyone love real wood again.

She added: "The benefit of them is that you can use them with underfloor heating, which goes back to the ecology."

In addition, wood flooring is still proving "more than" popular as an interior design product due to its style and feel, as well as its quality, Ms Park declared.

And there are many different uses for the material, such as for inlays, while it is more ecological than plastic because it is a natural product.

The interior designer noted that it is "wonderful" to work with craftsmen and come up with plans for an appliance in any size.

Her comments come after the Welsh Assembly government announced earlier this month that £2 million in funding will be provided for new green properties, which could incorporate oak wood flooring.
