Wood flooring industry event 'was a success'

An industry event that celebrated the various uses of wood flooring has been described as a success by attendees.

Hardwood Floors magazine reports that exhibitors at the 2011 Surfaces trade show were generally optimistic about business prospects this year.

It consulted Peter Connor, president of US retailer WD Flooring in Wisconsin, who named the event "unequivocally the best show we have had since 2004".

"We signed up a host of new distributors and we re-engaged distributors whom had fallen by the wayside for one reason or another."

A number of companies reported gaining good sales leads thanks to the event and John Lio of New Jersey's Dri-Tac Flooring Products revealed his firm introduced some "great" items to clients.

This comes after fellow retailer Lewis Voorhees of L&L Carpet told My Central Jersey that homeowners are increasingly opting for wood flooring in their downstairs rooms.
