Wood flooring 'has richness and charm'

A new guide to character flooring has promoted the range of benefits that wood floors can bring to a home.

An EMC News guide claimed that distressed wood floors, which have been made to appear older than they actually are, can often be used to bring character to a space.

"Character floors have all the unique beauty, richness and charm we associate with older wood floors. But perhaps the real charm is that they are brand new," said the guide.

It went on to state that the durability and toughness of a modern floor, combined with the stately appearance of older wood flooring, is a winning combination.

A recent Lonad article echoed these sentiments and said that solid wood floors can often be used to provide a home with a classic ambiance.

The EMC guide went on to advise homeowners to seek out a formaldehyde-free floor and investigate other eco-friendly features.
