Wood flooring features in top estate
The wood flooring of an acclaimed estate has been praised in a new property guide.
Writing for Luxist, columnist Deidre Woollard named an estate in St Louis, Missouri as her property of the day.
She praised the home's tactical placement of antique rugs over its "expansive" wood flooring, a feat made all the more impressive due to the house's 13,000 square feet of floor space.
"The home gets its inspiration from late 17th century English domestic architecture," Ms Woollard said. "[The estate] is on a nearly two-acre lot that includes tennis courts [and] a carriage house."
She went on to promote the home's dark wood panelling and intricately carved staircase and noted the sheer number of facilities, which includes a swimming pool, library, pantry and side entry gallery.
In a recent Maryland Gazette article, columnist Serena Loder praised the wood floors of a 1930s townhouse, which boasts double-paned windows and exudes a "private" feel.
