Wood flooring features in renovated skateboard shop
A renovated skateboard shop has been adorned with wood flooring.
Writing for the Idaho State Journal, columnist Jimmy Hancock reported on the efforts of Darin Black, who had recently purchased Pocatello's old Wade's Bakery building.
Although he had not originally intended to open a store on the site, after extensive renovations he decided to open a retail outlet for skateboards.
Mr Black's efforts were welcomed by Stephanie Palagi, executive director of Old Town Pocatello, who hailed his attempts to mix the modern with the historic.
"But getting that historic building into shape wasn't a snap, especially when it comes to the wood flooring. Originally covered with carpeting, the floors were not suitable," said the publication.
Mr Black was forced to remove around eight different types of flooring before making it through to the wood.
This comes after the LA Times reported on the increasing popularity of reused wood flooring gained from architectural reclamation.
