Wood flooring features in 'picturesque' home
Wood flooring has been noted as a key feature of one cottage property that has been promoted for its aesthetics.
Writing in the Liverpool Echo, columnist Janet Tansley reported on a home in Hale Village, built in 1920 but "styled" as a much older building.
Describing the property as "perfect" and "picturesque", she hailed the range of ornate features and noted the use of wood flooring throughout the cottage.
"The reception hallway has a sweeping staircase to the upper floor, wood block flooring and a beamed ceiling. The flooring is continued in the dining room, which also has an oriel bay window overlooking the front garden," Ms Tansley said.
She went on to discuss the property's farmhouse kitchen, which boasts modern conveniences such as gas oven, hob and a built-in fridge freezer.
According to DIY expert Keith Paul, this type of home could do particularly well on the market as he claimed wood floors are much sought-after by buyers.
