Wood flooring features in period property in Kent

The use of wood flooring throughout one Kent property has been detailed in a new guide.

Countrylife columnist Holly Kirkwood examined the 1900 family home in Kingsdown Park and pointed to its seaside location as a unique selling point.

She went on to state that the fully-restored property has recently received the addition of a new wing, which "seamlessly" matches the house's "original front elevation" and noted some of its key features.

"Inside accommodation includes a magnificent panelled room with a central staircase rising to a galleried landing and generous reception rooms with wooden floors and exposed beams, as well as character fireplaces," said Ms Kirkwood.

She went on to explore the bountiful garden, making particular mention of the property's "generous" terrace and its variety of shrubs and plants.

Wood flooring was recently named as a key feature of the house of the week in the Canadian Informer's property guide, which hailed the home as a "contemporary masterpiece".
