Wood flooring features in log cabin

Wood flooring has been promoted as a key feature of one couple's dream home.

Writing in the Tenessean, columnist Bill Lewis reported on the story of Mike and Marta Foster, who have recently completed construction on their retirement property.

After jetting all over the world for business and touring the US in their motorhome when on holiday, the Fosters commissioned a custom-made log cabin overlooking Old Hickory Lake.

Composite wood flooring features in the large property, which stands at 5,000 sq ft, in addition to a hot tub and indoor swimming pool.

Mrs Foster told the publication this type of material was chosen due to its ease of maintenance and briefly spoke about her 24-foot screen porch, which comes with a wood-burning fireplace.

"We laugh that we built a screened porch with a house on it," she said.
