Wood flooring 'complements' wood furnishings
Wood flooring can be used to complement wooden furnishings, as well as providing a welcome change from tiled floors, one interior design expert has claimed.
In a recent Montreal Gazette article, Donna Nebenzahl reported on a young couple's challenge to turn a dilapidated Westmount Square apartment into a sophisticated living space.
"She also wanted to pay a certain homage to this great building, an iconic piece of contemporary architecture, designed by Mies van der Rohe, one of the most influential architects," she said.
Ms Nebenzahl went on to tell of the homeowner's choice of wood flooring, which is intended to complement the apartment's various wood furnishings, such as the Chinese altar table.
Wood flooring also provided the homeowner with a change from the tiled flooring she had used at many of the other residences she had renovated.
A recent Kansas City Star article promoted wood flooring as one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to update the look of a room.
