Wood flooring 'can last for decades with proper care'
Wood flooring has been billed as a product that consumers can potentially get a lifetime's worth of use out of if it is properly looked after.
In a recent WonderWoman.in article, columnist Swati Mittal claimed that it can be easy to forget the care which wood floors need.
To help homeowners with these tasks she set out a number of tips and emphasised the importance of performing maintenance on a regular basis.
"Hardwood floors are the epitome of elegance and last for decades if cared for properly. However, a little negligence can leave the floor looking dull, warped and scratched," Ms Swati said.
She explained it is important to monitor the amount of sunlight that wood floors are subjected to as over-exposure can lead to discolouration.
Ms Swati's comments follow the guidance in a recent Lonad article, which advised homeowners to invest in rugs to prevent wood floors from being sullied by dirty shoes.
