Wood flooring 'can add the rustic look to a home'

Homeowners have been informed of the ways in which wood flooring can be used to attain the rustic look.

Writing for DNA India, columnist Paresh Shah claimed the theme has become the latest decor trend.

He explained that to achieve the rustic look, homeowners should make "maximum use of wood textures and colours" for all the main elements and put particular emphasis on furniture, accessories and wood flooring.

"To give an innate look to your dwelling you can choose stone floors, rough textured tiles or wood with natural polish as flooring," said Mr Shah.

He went on to explain that a home's colour scheme is also an important factor and claimed that those trying to achieve the rustic look should opt for "soft" ivory, pale cream or "rich shades" of honey and silvery greens.

This comes after the San Francisco Chronicle hailed wood floors as a great decor addition for those attempting to decorate in the vintage modern style.
