Wood flooring 'can add personality to a home'

Adding wood flooring to a property can be an ideal way of enhancing the personality of a home, as one couple in the US have discovered.

The Tennessean reports that James Dean and Jane Hunter-Hicks have recently chosen to install antique hardwood floors in their Brentwood cottage as part of a major renovation of the property.

According to the couple, this material was chosen in order to provide "character and country charm" to the property, while white V-groove panelling was also installed to offset the "chocolatey" appearance of the wood flooring.

Ms Hunter-Hicks said she convinced her husband to opt for the flooring option by saying it would "give this house a whole new personality".

According to the report, the renovations proved a success, with the house attracting multiple bids within eight days of being put on sale.

Earlier this month, an article from the Pocono Record suggested that the look of hardwood flooring is becoming increasingly sought-after among homeowners.
