Wood flooring boasts 'natural warmth'
The natural warmth of wood flooring has been promoted in a new guide to interior design.
Writing for ioL Lifestyle, columnist Caroline Kamp set out some of the myriad options facing homeowners who wish to renovate their home.
She claimed it is important to factor in the cost of installation and materials when installing new wood floors and consulted interior design expert Nina Campbell on the different types available for purchase.
"Solid wood flooring from a sustainable source is a good … option as it has a natural warmth and tone," said Ms Campbell. "It will add to the value of your house."
Ms Kamp also highlighted the benefits of vinyl flooring, noting that it can work particularly well in the kitchen and for those with children.
Last month, a Journal Times guide to interior design claimed that those who wish to add warmth to their home should use rugs in conjunction with their wood flooring.
