'Use green wood flooring' to make a home eco-friendly
Wood flooring has been put forward as one way for homeowners to improve their green credentials.
In a recent article for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, columnist Rebecca Konya claimed that environmentally-friendly DIY improvements can yield many benefits.
"From flooring to paint, there are lots of ways to green up your home - and lots of reasons, too. A green home uses less energy, water and natural resources and is healthier," she said.
Ms Konya went on to consult Tori Spott, a real estate agent who has been awarded a Green Designation from the US National Association of Realtors.
She claimed that the majority of homeowners do want to go green but are concerned about the costs.
However, Ms Spott explained that there are a number of affordable ways to implement environmentally-friendly renovations.
This comes after the Washington Post hailed reclaimed wood flooring as a great green material.
