US builders report wood flooring popularity
A pair of US builders have reported on the increasing popularity of wood flooring in renovation work.
In a recent Business West article, it was revealed that wood floors are becoming a regular addition to homes in Massachusetts.
The publication spoke to William and Ray Laplante, founder and president of Laplante Construction in East Longmeadow respectively, who highlighted the growing use of the material.
"Granite countertops are a given and a lot of people are using hardwood floors in the kitchen," said William Laplante. "It's easier on the feet."
Kent Pecoy, president of the Pecoy building companies revealed he has never seen the cost for materials and labour so low during his 35-year career in the industry.
A recent Construction Week article also noted the increasing popularity of wood floors, which it attributed to developers opting for more sustainable products.
