'The choice is endless' when it comes to flooring
A new guide to fashionable floors has revealed the 'endless' choices homeowners have in terms of flooring.
The Press and Journal's flooring guide claims whether it is laminate floors, solid wood flooring or engineered floors, homeowners need to evaluate the function of a room before making any choices.
For heavily used areas like hallways, hard-wearing solid wood floors are recommended and for kitchens and bathrooms, hard tiling is a must.
The guide also advises homeowners to consider using the increasingly popular underfloor heating, an efficient alternative to wall mounted radiators.
It says: "One immediate benefit of installing underfloor heating is that it keeps walls free from radiators which gives the householder more choice when it comes to arranging furniture."
The guide's advice follows news from earlier in the month in which George Clark of the Home Show claimed underfloor heating could be of benefit to new and old homes alike, in an article for the Daily Telegraph.
