Solid wood flooring 'increases home's aesthetic value'

Solid wood flooring has been praised in a new guide to enhancing the aesthetic appeal of a property.

Writing for Lon's Article Directory, columnist Anne Papadopoulos claimed that the beauty of a home is dependent on many factors, including furniture, walls colours, carpets and floors.

She advised homeowners seeking to spruce up their houses to investigate elements such as style, material and atmosphere.

"In order to increase the aesthetic value of the home, many interior designers recommend solid oak flooring as it delivers warm and pleasant sheen," Ms Papadopoulos said.

She went on to recommend that DIYers plan ahead and think about colour schemes, noting that lighter tones can add brightness to a room, whereas darker shades can add a sense of grandeur to a space.

A Decor-Floor guide recommends the use of solid wood flooring in the bedroom, advising homeowners that the material can create a "cosy indoor atmosphere".
