Solid wood flooring 'can be reused'

Home improvement enthusiasts have been called upon to get the most out of their DIY supplies by a representative from one sustainable home improvement materials company.

Manager of marketing and sales for US retailer The ReStore John Grossman told WWLP of the benefits that reusing materials such as wood flooring could bring.

He set out the goals of his company, which aims to reuse valuable home improvement materials in an effort to make renovation more affordable for local DIY enthusiasts.

"Our materials are reused or they're surplus materials," he said. "It's for homeowners, DIYers who are looking for lights … or painting or insulation."

Mr Grossman said that his company's main goal is to prevent valuable and unused materials from ending up on a landfill and listed wood flooring, insulation and recovered latex paint as popular items.

A recent article by the Mirror listed renovating flooring as one of the easiest ways to change the look of a home to great effect.
