Solid wood flooring attracts house buyers

House buyers are attracted to homes with solid wood flooring, it has been stated.

Michal Porath of US realtor Charles Reinhart said that buyers were looking for specific features, including solid wood flooring, for their new homes, reports annarbor.com.

She said: "They're looking for fresh paint, hardwood floors and updated, modern decor - especially in kitchens and baths."

Another realtor, Susan Fecteau, said buyers expected homes to be perfect.

Solid wood flooring is a popular option for home buyers as it is simple to maintain and can last for many years without needing to be replaced.

Alex Milshteyn from Edward Surovel Realtors said: "Buyers don't want a house that will take a lot of work."

House buyers are not just looking for older homes to feature solid wood flooring.

A new development of luxury homes in Arlington County, Virginia, will feature solid wood flooring throughout the main level of the houses, reports the Washington Times.
