'See to wood flooring before entertaining guests', homeowners advised
Wood flooring concerns should be addressed well before guests arrive for the festive season, it has been advised.
An AOL Real Estate guide to maintenance on Housing Watch states that as the festive season arrives, the little problems around the house become increasingly apparent.
"You start to notice all those little things around the house that need attention, like that peeling paint on the front door, or those gouges in the wood flooring," it said.
The guide offered a range of suggestions for maintenance tasks which can be carried out over the holiday period and highlighted the importance of regular home care.
It promoted clearing clutter from a house, in addition to adding energy-efficient features to a property, which can potentially save money on bills.
The guide's comments echo the sentiments of a recent Independent article, which recommended that homeowners tackle the flooring before they begin any major renovations to their property.
