Sand solid wood flooring 'for natural finish'

Homeowners have been advised that sanding solid wood flooring can be a good project to spruce up their home over the Easter weekend.

Speaking at the recent Ideal Homes Show, home improvements expert George Clarke stated that there are numerous methods to give a property a new look that can be carried out over the holiday.

"Sand your old floorboards to get rid of the years of dust back to a natural finish and wax or oil the boards to maintain that natural look," he commented.

Mr Clarke also advised that painting a room could help to revamp it with a fresh look and that a feature wall could be created by using wallpaper.

According to a recent article in the Sunday Times, more natural materials are coming into vogue as homeowners go for rough and ready styles.

Installing solid wood flooring for a rugged yet natural feel could be one way to achieve that look.
