Period house boasts 'appealing' wood flooring

A "charming" Banchory cottage has been praised for its many exceptional features, including a generous lounge with "appealing" wood flooring.

In an article for the Press and Journal, Donna Ross explored the journey the former Roman Catholic chapel has taken in its extensive life.

Originally built over 50 miles away and moved to its current location in Banchory, the Elizabeth Cottage gained a "sizeable" extension in 2007, which led to it being featured in the renowned Deeside and Mearns architectural guide.

"The exceptionally generous lounge … has many appealing features, including exposed ceiling beams and wooden flooring," Ms Ross said.

She also pointed to the useful utility room, picturesque garden space and the luxurious bathroom as some of the [Aberdeenshire] cottage's other great features.

Earlier in the month, a Manila Bulletin article looked at home improvement trends and found that the worn-in look is in vogue, with rugs also being praised as one of the hot interior design staples of 2010.
