Historic property features wood flooring

A historic property's wood flooring has been highlighted in a new article.

Writing for Country Life, Holly Kirkwood explored Durley Mill, situated on the banks of Hampshire's River Hamble.

She praised its "superb" riverside gardens and the "spacious" interior of the house, before going on to describe the owner's decor choices.

"The current owners have created a welcoming, spacious home while retaining characterful period features including exposed beams and wooden floors, as well as old workings of the original mill," said Ms Kirkwood.

She went on to examine the ground floor's entrance hall, drawing room, sitting room and conservatory, noting that the property could "benefit from some modernisation".

However, Ms Kirkwood expressed her approval of the extensive second floor, which features a master bedroom, in addition to a bathroom, games room and play area.

Last month a Lookout article praised the wood flooring of St Paul's Anglican Church in Esquimalt.
