Grey 'is the new colour for wood flooring'
Wood flooring in grey has been hailed as the latest interior design trend.
Writing for the London Evening Standard, columnist Jasmine Gardner spoke to interior design expert Nicky Haslam, who believes grey wood flooring is an increasingly popular choice.
"We are doing silver metal bonded into the grain of the wood and metals that look like rippling water," he said.
However, Mr Haslam also revealed that the trend was not confined to wood floors and grey is becoming sought-after among all types of underfoot covering.
Ms Gardner also consulted a number of UK retailers, who confirmed the growing popularity of grey wood flooring, with one claiming such products have been "flying out of the door".
Head of architectural design at Bill Amberg claimed that the colour was increasingly preffered by a "younger and braver genre of client".
This comes after Newsday columnist Gigi Berman Aharoni promoted the value-adding benefits of wood flooring.
