Cleaning wood floors is "critical" before selling a home

Those who are thinking of selling their home might like to give their wood floors a clean.

According to Mag Ruffman, who writes a blog about tools entitled Tool Girl, it is "critical" to make sure these surfaces are not dirty when trying to impress potential buyers, the Toronto Sun reports.

In addition to this, she noted prospective house purchasers will be inclined to touch various surfaces.

What's more, those doing a spot of spring cleaning on their surfaces may like to use a water-based product on wood floors, furniture and cabinets.

Ms Ruffman advised using a cloth to rub in the solution and it should dry to form a "lovely low sheen", adding:"This down 'n' dirty refinishing process will improve the overall appearance of your home and will give you a great feeling."

This advice comes after Lorraine Bartos, speaking to the Journal Star, said laminate flooring should be cleaned using basic methods.
