'Opt for the correct colour' with laminate flooring
Homeowners choosing laminate flooring have been urged to ensure they pick the right colour.
Yourhome.ca columnist Steve Maxwell issued the warning in a guide to the material - where he noted its durability and cost-effectiveness.
However, he informed homeowners that the shade of laminate flooring can have an effect on the aesthetics of a property.
"You need to recognise that some darker laminates show dirt and dust more readily than lighter colours," Mr Maxwell said.
He went on to suggest purchasing a bundle to test how it fits in a section of a property for a week or so to "see what it's like to live with".
Mr Maxwell explained that he is aware of several people who chose unwisely and are "forever distressed" by the marks on their laminate floors.
A recent Lonad article hailed the material as a great option due to its ease of installation and durability.
