Laminate flooring recommended for cellars
Installing laminate flooring as part of a project to refurbish a cellar has been recommended.
According to ksfy.com, laminate flooring reacts better to moisture than carpets and is therefore more suitable for basements.
The news provider stated that a poured concrete floor "will not do".
It said: "The pores in concrete draw loads of moisture into the basement."
Homeowners should consider installing laminate flooring as it is easy to heat, it added.
"It is wise to install electric floor heating in your renovated basement to combat the high moisture levels," the news provider said.
Adding new walls could also be necessary parts of the refurbishment work, as they act as insulation
Because there is no natural light in a basement, lighting becomes more important, ksfy.com added.
As well as being resistant to moisture, advantages of laminate flooring include that it is extremely durable and easy to maintain and keep clean.
