Laminate flooring 'protected from damage'

Laminate flooring is a good choice for kitchens as it is protected from damage by spills and sharp objects.

Dustin Eves explained in a post for eHow that the finish applied to laminate flooring made it ideal for kitchens.

He said: "Resins and other polymers often are used in the laminate flooring's protective upper layer, helping to protect it from virtually any kind of damage."

This is important in a kitchen where spillages of food and liquids are common.

Not only does laminate flooring not get damaged by getting wet, it is also able to withstand sharp or heavy objects such as knives or pots and pans being dropped on it.

Mr Eves added that laminate flooring required no special cleaning compared to some other types of flooring, such as tile.

Kitchen project specialist Janelle Van Wyk recently told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel many home improvement works could be carried out by a homeowner over a weekend, including installing laminate flooring.ADNFCR-2810-ID-19612783-ADNFCR
