Laminate flooring owners handed care tips
Laminate flooring owners have been issued with a variety of tips on how to properly care for and maintain the material.
An eHow guide to the issue noted the increasing popularity of laminate flooring and highlighted how easy it is to install.
It claimed that one of the best features of the material is the low amount of maintenance required to keep it in top shape.
Despite being very durable, the guide warned homeowners that laminate flooring can succumb to scratches over time and urged people to avoid exposing them to sharp edges for prolonged periods.
"Cover the feet of your tables and chairs with self-stick felt pads. They come in a variety of sizes and can be cut to fit," it said.
Similarly, it recommended using a soft broom, as hard brushes can often cause scratches on the surface of laminate floors.
These sentiments were echoed by a recent ABC guide to floor care which warned homeowners against using homemade cleaning products.
