Laminate flooring may be fitted at Blackpool regeneration

Laminate flooring could be in the running to be selected as the floor covering for various new buildings in the northern seaside town of Blackpool.

Shops, cafes and restaurants will all be built under the £220 million redevelopment plans, which aim to produce an attractive new gateway into the town.

Under the proposals, a doctor's surgery, hotels and residential accommodation will also be created.

The scheme is led by Muse Developments, who will be working in partnership with Blackpool Council, urban regeneration company ReBlackpool and the North West Regional Development Agency.

Laminate flooring could prove to be a good selection for the residential accommodation.

According to Jean Parker of Article Biz, laminate flooring is a "better quality" choice than some of its competitors in the market, while it is also "low maintenance".

She added that homes could potentially be easier to sell if they are fitted with the appropriate type of floor covering.
