Laminate flooring 'is tough and resistant to stains'

Laminate flooring could be an ideal selection for a homeowner who wants their floor covering to be tough.

Kathy Price-Robinson of DIY Life stated that laminate flooring is also resistant to scratches and stains, as well as fading.

"You can get laminate flooring that looks like cherry, red oak, hickory, chestnut, or any number of warm and wonderful woods," she commented.

She advised homeowners planning to install laminate flooring themselves to ensure they have all the necessary tools on hand before beginning the work.

The project requires the use of a compound mitre saw, she stated, as this is used to cut the laminate flooring down to the right size.

Ms Price-Robinson added that DIYers will need a tape measure, as this will help to ensure the laminate flooring is the correct length and width before beginning to fit it.

This comes after laminate flooring was chosen for a series of home improvement projects in Canada.

Resident Jocelyn Dick told the Alberni Valley Times the laminate flooring has had a positive effect on her life.
