Laminate flooring installed in ballroom

A ballroom in the US has been fitted with laminate flooring to replicate the look of solid wood floors.

Laminate flooring was selected to give a glossy finish to the dancefloor at the Crystal Ballroom in Chatfield.

Owner Lloyd Quinton told the Post-Bulletin that although he had planned to re-open the ballroom in early May, the work had been completed quicker than he expected.

"It really hasn't changed much at all," he commented.

Mr Quinton added that the ballroom will now be open for business again on April 4th and dances will be held every Sunday night for the rest of the year.

The laminate flooring was installed after the previous floor covering had begun to warp and bulge around the edges of the ballroom.

Laminate flooring has also been chosen for a development of condos in Canada.

The 530 St Clair Avenue West Condominiums development features the laminate flooring in the living and dining areas of the properties, reports the Toronto Star.
