Laminate flooring hailed as 'a way to make the house a home'
Laminate flooring has been promoted as a way for homeowners to add to the homely feel of their property.
Writing for the Wawatay News Online, columnist Richard Wagamese explored the ways in which he had added to his property with touches to make the house more welcoming.
He claimed that his family had made their 25-year-old home their own "one step at a time", by adding personal touches in a process he described as a "terrific challenge".
"The living room boasts a new laminate floor and we tore out shelving, repainted and put in a new wood stove. Just lately we tackled the kitchen," said Mr Wagamese.
He went on to state that by renovating their property, his family had left part of themselves in the home and it was felt "like arms around us".
According to a Suite 101 guide, laminate flooring has become highly popular in recent years due to the fact that it requires little maintenance.
