Laminate flooring fitted at domestic violence shelter
A US shelter for domestic violence victims has installed laminate flooring as part of expansions at the facility.
The laminate flooring was selected to give the Sanctuary a fresh look, with new kitchen appliances also fitted.
Executive director Misti Crosley said the renovation works give her goosebumps as the building was previously "dreary".
"Now, when clients come in, it's bright and cheerful," she told the Harrison Daily Times.
"There's a good quality of furniture, and the clients feel more deserving. It makes them feel like they're worth more."
As well as the installation of the laminate flooring, the facility has been expanded so it can now offer refuge to as many as 17 women and children.
New office furniture, bedding, ceiling fans and sofas have also been added to the property.
Laminate flooring may prove to be a good choice for Sanctuary as it is strong and long-lasting.
Interior design consultant Leanne Brownoff recently told the Edmonton Journal that laminate flooring is "incredibly durable".
