Laminate flooring demand could increase
More and more homeowners are turning to home improvement works such as installing laminate flooring as a result of the lack of activity in the housing market.
According to builders merchant Buildbase, people are looking at sustainable and eco-friendly materials for the home.
Laminate flooring could therefore be set to be in demand, because it is increasingly becoming one of the more eco-friendly floor materials on the market.
John Drennan, director at Buildbase, explained that with the recession over, homeowners are now looking to spend money improving on their properties.
He said: "I think last year was a very uncertain year for everyone and hopefully, this year, I think people are realising perhaps it wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be."
This comes after the Conservative Party announced that households will be offered up to £6,500 for green renovation projects if they win the upcoming general election, which is expected to take place in May.
