Laminate flooring could be laid in new housing development
Laminate floors may be considered at a major project to construct new homes in the Midlands.
Waterloo Housing Group will build 3,000 new affordable homes after it agreed a £100 million debt financing deal with Barclays.
It is not yet known what type of flooring will be installed at the new developments, but as laminate flooring is recognised to be an affordable option, it is likely to be considered.
David Pickering, Waterloo chief executive, said the 3,000 homes would include houses for the elderly and accommodation for younger people.
"Our financially prudent track record is recognised for developing a variety of high quality homes - from city apartments to rural family houses," he commented.
Laminate flooring has been selected for a redevelopment of apartments in the US.
The modernisation work at the Peace Village in Illinois includes the installation of wood-effect laminate floors and counter-tops that look like granite, reports the Regional News.
A new fitness centre will also be built at the village as part of the plans.
