Laminate flooring 'can be swept with a broom'
Homeowners considering installing laminate flooring in their house have been advised of the best method to clean it.
According to a post on advice website eHow, the laminate floor should first be swept with a broom to clear it of any dust or debris.
The article advised then using the soft brush attachment on a vacuum to clean the floor.
Using special laminate flooring cleaner would be the next step, according to the piece, with the best method of applying it being to use a sponge mop over small patches of the floor.
"Dampen sponge mop, being sure to ring out excess water, and run over area of floor cleaner going with the grain of the wood with smooth, even strokes," the article advised.
The advice on eHow is backed up by Anthony Davis, who said in a piece for Ezine Articles that spills on laminate flooring should be cleaned with a damp cloth rather than by washing the floor.
